Nantong Export Processing Zone (NTEPZ) is situated in Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area which is a state level development area, with a planned area 2.98 square kilometers, but its starting area being 0.75 square kilometers. The Tong-Qi canal marking its western and northern boundaries, the Dongfang Avenue and Fuxin Road marking its eastern and southern boundary respectively, the NTPEZ is located at a hub of communications, adjoining the main coastal artery of communications between north and south, close to the estuary of Yangze River, and onlu 8 kilometers to the Su(Suzhou)-Tong(Nangtong)Changjiang Bridge which is under construction.

Nangtong Export Processing Zone practices the management mode of Customs declaration for commodity import and export with domestic. The local Customs offers 24 hours clearance services, practicing commodity declaration, bill-review and commodity check once only. Firms in the zone may contract out processing of dies and semi-finished products to firms outside the zone, and can go through the formalities import and export in the zone.

Nangtong Export Processing Zone pursues the policy of “ serving the investors and letting them make profits. NTEPZ offers efficient services for their project application, construction and operation, and provides investors with good enough accomoditions. In Nangtong Economic&Technological Development Area,NTEPZ takes full advantage of the inbfrastructure such as paved road, water, drainage, electricity, telecommunication, steam, wastewater treatment, industrial gas and level land. International investors such as Toray have invested in NETDA. Among the NETDA companies, there are hi-tech productions such as TV visible telephone, DVD, PC, Laser magnetic head and textile and garments.

NTEPZ encourages investment in such industries as electronics and information, biomedicine, precision machinery, textile and garments, hi-tech industries in particular. Also encouraged investments are industries of warehousing and transportation that service the enterprises in the zone.

Enterprises in the export processing zone (hereafter referred as EPZ) may enjoy preferential policies like tariff-free imports and exports, bonded imported materials and tax refunds. The income tax of foreign-invested enterprises is levied under the policy implemented in the state-level development areas. The enterprises may also enjoy benefits in terms of quota license, foreign exchange, commodity inspection & quarantine etc.

Import Duty Exemption

Machines, equipment, dies, components and spare parts for maintenance, machines and equipment for infrastructure construction, materials for capital construction, office facilities for self-use are administered by electronic account books and free from customs duty and import VAT.

Export Tax Exemption

Products processed and manufactured by in-zone enterprises are exempted from export customs duty, VAT and excise. Water, electricity and steam for manufacturing export-oriented products are entitled to VAT rebating.

Imported Materials in Bond

Raw materials, components, spare parts, packaging materials and consumable supplies imported by in-zone enterprises to manufacture export-oriented products are fully bonded.

Export VAT Rebate

For those domestic made equipment, raw materials, components, spare parts, packing materials that are transported to in-zone enterprises by enterprises outside EPZ, materials for infrastructure construction, and capital construction materials (water, electricity and steam are excluded) for processing enterprises and administrative agencies to build office and production buildings, off-zone enterprises (referring to enterprises outside EPZ, but within the territory of PRC) may declare to the taxation agencies and arrange for the export VAT rebate( exemption) by presenting the export goods declaration form( specially used for export rebate) issued by the customs and other export rebate receipts as specified by existing regulations.
