          Wastewater Treatment

Currently NETDA operates a sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 55,000 tons per day. Another new plant is under construction, Phase I capacity of 25,000 tons per day. Industrial waster water is to be treated up to Category III National Discharge Standard (COD500, BOD300, PH6-9, and SS400) and pumped to the treatment plants for further biochemical treatment, and then discharged to the Yangtze River in compliance with the discharge standard. Besides, NETDA is also planning to construct a pipeline to discharge duly treated industrial wastewater to the sea with a capacity of 300,000 tons per day, which will tremendously expand the environment protection capacity of NETDA. This will also provide particularly favorable conditions for the big manufacturing industries that require large amount of water consumption and discharge capacity.
